SS12 Los Angeles Fashion Week Review by Christopher Jozeph.

With New York as the fashion capital of the U.S, showcasing the talent of couture, and high-fashion designers, Los Angeles has always fought for its position within the fashion industry, sometimes being labeled as the "step child of fashion."

LA is a melting pot of diverse fashion talent and resources. And one thing you cannot take away from LA is its passion for the culture and support of its own designers, from start-ups to the established.

Within the fashion world, there is a need to accommodate all, from the “high-fashion” to the “Street” and everything in between. LA is that design center creating and producing that gap in fashion for the masses outside of NYC couture. Although Los Angeles and New York City is very different relative to design, we both live within the same culture thus, we should embrace each other.

There is but one personal opinion that I will voice however, Men’s Fashion! Los Angeles will host the first ever U.S Men’s Fashion Week in June 2013 and is the fifth installment of Men’s Fashion Week Globally next to London, Milan, Shanghai, and Vancouver Canada. I am excited to represent LA as the local men’s contemporary designer and guarantee something very unique will be seen combining East meets West.

This will be an event to surely gain Los Angeles much deserved respect and embracement for it’s forging mentality within the fashion world.

Carpe Diem!
